FORMER CNN COLLEAGUES
UNITE TO LAUNCH SPRINGBOARD CREATIVE,
NEW FULL SERVICE MARKETING COMPANY.
ATLANTA, January 15, 2002Three CNN and Turner Broadcasting veterans,
Rick Salcedo, Mark Ogden and Danny Sullivan, have reunited to form
Springboard Creative, a provider of marketing & promotion tools,
services and solutions to broadcast and cable television stations
and networks. Rick Salcedo was formerly CNN senior vice president
for marketing & creative services and head of CNN's on-air promotion
and marketing efforts during the networks' period of greatest success.
Ogden served as creative director with Salcedo as well as director
of programming for Turner Private Networks. Sullivan worked with Salcedo
as head of marketing and operations and was most recently director
of consumer marketing for CNN Interactive.

Springboard Creative is a full service marketing and production company
specializing in advertising, promotion and programming for television
networks, stations and systems. The young company is already supporting
established broadcast and cable networks and television stations with
positioning and branding solutions, and boasts a current client list
that includes Turner Broadcasting, Scripps DIY - Do It Yourself
- Network, Cox Communications, Mass Transit Network International
and KCPQ-TV in Seattle. Non- broadcast/cable clients include Home
Depot and TESA Entry Systems.
Salcedo, who joins Springboard as creative director, has more than
20 years experience in the broadcast and cable network worlds. He
began his career at NBC in New York, rising to creative director of
the Network Advertising & Promotion group. He moved to CNN in1989,
just in time for CNNs 10th Anniversary and the Gulf War. He
installed James Earl Jones as the voice of CNN and built an award-winning
department of 45 people responsible for all consumer marketing and
promotion for the entire family of CNN domestic and international
networks and services. Salcedo has played an active role in the industry
through ATAS, NATAS, CTAM and as a member of the PROMAX Board of Directors.
Mark Ogden is executive producer of Springboard. A veteran of the
cable network world, he started his career as a writer/producer for
CBS Cable in New York. He was manager of on-air promotion for Cinemax
and Festival, and oversaw all advertising and promotion efforts for
HBO as director of on-air promotion. At CNN he supervised the on-air
promo group, helped create place-based services like The Airport Channel,
and worked on the development and packaging of pilots and specials
including the weekly documentary series CNN Presents.
Danny Sullivan, managing director of Springboard, also started his
career at NBC in New York, where he eventually moved to the Network
Advertising & Promotion department as manager of operations, where
he first met Salcedo. In 1989, he was named director of operations
for CNN Promotion, joining Salcedo in the move. He moved to the world
of the Internet in 1999 as director of consumer marketing for CNN
Interactive where he played a key role in the development of the entire
family of CNN web sites.
